We received a pretty good amount of rain this morning and were unable to place the targets on the 50/100 and the 200/300/500 yard ranges. I spoke with the Department of Public Works and we are looking to try again on Wednesday September 3rd due to the holiday. We are shooting to open on September 6th. I will keep you posted.
The new rules will be posted early next week on the Shiocton.org website. Make sure you are familiar with the new rules. The biggest change is you will not be allowed to bring in homemade or commercial bought targets. Paper targets can be placed on the targets that are furnish by the range. Also the paper can not hang off of the target frames. It is best to bring a clothespin or paperclip to hang the targets.
Also make sure you are cleaning up your targets and spent rounds.
There will be signs as to what firearms can be shot at which range.
Also shooting times will end at the ''Official'' Shiocton sunset time. This can be found by searching Shiocton sunset set time on the internet. This will also be posted on a display board near the donation boxes.
Call if you have any questions. 920-986-3294. See soon.
The 200 & 500 yard ranges will be closed starting Mon. January 20th until further notice.
The pistol range will remain OPEN for the use of hand guns and .22 cal long guns. No shotguns or .223's
PLEASE READ THE RULES THAT ARE POSTED !!!
While on the 200/300/500 yard range you must be shooting at the stationary targets provided. Any thing other will cause ricochets!!! Homemade or commercial bought targets are no longer allowed at the range.
During bow season the 500 yard range hours
will be limited to 9am-3pm
Clay targets & exploding targets
are NOT allowed!!!

The Village of Shiocton has one of the few open to the public shooting ranges in the state. The range is fully within the Village limits and supported by donations. It is open from 7:00 a.m. to the ''official'' Shiocton sunset. The range consists of a 50 and 100 yard range, a 200/300/500 yard range, and pistol range. Shooting tables and stationary targets are at each range.
Occasionally the range will be reserved for special events and closed to the public. It will also be closed for maintenance and mowing though we try not to have all ranges to be closed at the same time.
We have tried to make the ranges as user friendly and safe as possible. It is up to the individual shooter to clean up their own mess and make sure things are ready for the next shooter. Doing this helps to ensure the range stays open to the public.
JUST A REMINDER THAT ALL RANGES WILL BE CLOSED THE 9 DAYS OF THE GUN DEER HUNT FOR THE SAFETY OF THE HUNTERS WHO HUNT BEHIND THE RANGES.
Donation boxes are set up at each range and donations are appreciated. All donations are put back into the range whether to buy targets or to keep the ranges as safe as possible. OUR RANGE IS FUNDED SOLELY BY GRANTS AND DONATIONS!!!
There is also a archery range with multiple stations for different situations.
If you have any questions on the shooting ranges please call the Village of Shiocton at (920)986-3415 Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
